Why use VAWC Co-ops?
Using worker co-ops in the VAWC system builds and strengthens our co-op economy. VAWC Member Co-ops:
• are committed to a cross sector co-operative economy; our finances are managed by co-ops and credit unions, we partner co-ops across all sectors and co-founded the Valley Co-operative Business Association.
• govern and direct our own support and development (we’ve supported 7 traditional businesses converting to worker co-operatives since our founding).
• engage in education internally with tailor-made educational events and externally including our Certificate in Co-operative Enterprise at UMass, Amherst, its internship program and our VAWC Owners’ Manual.
